Hey Brendan,
Very nice website. You and I are in the same boat considering Black Tern among our favorite birds. If I was forced to pick a #1 favorite, Black Tern might be it. Something about them…
Hi Brendan!!!!! This is so cool.! I wanted to ask you what a goodgift would be (not to expensive) for my brother in law who is an avid birder …??
Can you think of something…or maybe get some thoughts form your dad?

Love this list! You continue to impress and amaze me!
Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas and thatbwe see you all soon!
Hey Brendan,
Congratulations on a great pelagic trip. You and your dad must be good sailors as the waters around Block Island are some of the roughest I’ve ever birded. I got my first dovekie and puffin off Block Island on a winter pelagic trip many years ago as well. Dovekie is an amazing little bird and it sounds like they, as well as razorbill and murres are much more common now than they were when I was your age. It’s interesting that the Atlantic has so fewer alcids than the Pacific. Guess that’s because the Atlantic is a much younger ocean. The Atlantic only has one tiny alcid – the dovekie, where the pacific has a host of little alcids – all the auklets, and murrelets.
So I’m in for the World Series this year! If we’re going to do it right, we need to start planning!
Say hi to your Mom, Dad, and Graham for me!
Good Birding! Steve Q.
